About Armando

Armando Carmona now represents the very community where he was born and raised. Proud to be homegrown, Armando never forgot his roots in Mira Loma, now incorporated as Jurupa Valley. He decided to run for office because he saw a big part of the community being silenced and ignored, neighbors whose voices were being drowned out by developers and an agenda aimed at displacement and gentrification. He recognized how these pressures threatened the community’s way of life, and he stepped forward to be a voice for everyday residents. With unprecedented grassroots support, Armando won his election by a landslide.

A Community-Driven Leader

Since taking office, Armando has worked to bring people together and inspire a renewed sense of hope for a stronger community. His approach isn’t always traditional, but it is deeply rooted in the belief that real change comes from the ground up. He leads regular neighborhood cleanups, organizes community events, and makes sure that residents are not just heard, but are also part of shaping solutions.

Delivering for Jurupa Valley

Through his advocacy, Armando has secured tens of millions of dollars in funding for District 1, investments aimed at addressing flooding, combating illegal dumping, and cleaning up the city. He has helped countless residents build better relationships with city departments, ensuring people see Jurupa Valley not as a distant bureaucracy, but as a partner in making their lives better. Armando works tirelessly to make sure the city is seen as a positive institution – one that serves, protects, and uplifts its community.
